The Xcode Junk category in Zelo: four build data items, all low risk, noting that Xcode re-creates them when needed.
For people who work on a Mac

Made for people who live on their Mac.

If you code, edit or run AI models, you know work junk grows fast. Zelo separates what can go from what is your work, and tells you the risk of each item.

Xcode
Build data, device symbols, simulator caches and archived builds.
AI
Models and caches from Ollama, Hugging Face, LM Studio and PyTorch, plus the roughly 4 GB model Chrome downloads on its own.
Terminal
The zelo command runs the review and shows health, login items and maintenance, with JSON output. By default it only simulates: it changes files only with --yes.
How it works

Scan > Review > Clean. You decide. Anything risky can be undone.

  • Nothing personal is preselected.Large files, downloads, apps, backups and AI models never come selected. Removing is always your call.
  • Out of reach.Keychains, Mail, Messages, Photos, iCloud, the .ssh folder and essential system folders are left alone.
  • Risk shown on every item.Low, medium or high, with what happens if it goes. Caches the app re-creates are removed right away.
  • 7-day quarantine.Medium- and high-risk items wait a week before they are permanently deleted, and can be restored.
  • Passwords never show up.Browser passwords, bookmarks and autofill stay off the list. So do caches of open apps, and nothing in a browser is cleaned while it is open.

    FAQ

    What everyone asks first.

    Can Zelo delete something important?

It was built to avoid that. Keychains, Mail, Messages, Photos, iCloud and essential system folders are out of reach. Every item shows its risk level and the reason, and anything medium or high risk goes to quarantine for 7 days and can be restored.

Do my files leave my Mac?

No. Scanning and cleaning happen on your Mac.

    Is Zelo an antivirus?

No. It doesn't look for or remove viruses. macOS has its own protections for that.

Why does Zelo ask for Full Disk Access?

To see the Trash, iPhone and iPad backups, Mail attachments and recent items lists. Without it, Zelo still finds most caches. You grant it in System Settings > Privacy & Security, and can take it back anytime.

Will Zelo make my Mac faster?

Zelo focuses on space and organization. When your disk is almost full, freeing space helps macOS work normally, but we don't promise miracles.

    What is System Data?

It's the name macOS gives to whatever doesn't fit the other storage categories, such as caches, logs, temporary files and snapshots. The system manages much of it on its own. Zelo finds and explains what is safe to remove from your user account: app caches, local snapshots and leftovers of uninstalled apps.

Can't I do this for free, by hand?

You can, if you know where every cache, every Xcode folder and every forgotten AI model lives, and what can or can't be deleted. Zelo brings it all into one scan and explains each item. And the scan is free, so you see what you have before you pay.

How does the free trial work?

The scan is free forever: Quick Review, Disk Map, Mac Health and the menu bar. Before you buy, you can also clean up to 2 GB and uninstall 1 app.

    Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once and the license is yours, with no monthly fee and no renewal.

How many Macs can I use it on?

Up to 2 of your Macs.

What if I don't like it?

You have 7 days to ask for your money back, no explanation needed.

Will it work on my Mac?

On macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, on Macs with Apple silicon or Intel.

Why isn't it on the App Store?

The App Store has rules that would block much of Zelo, such as asking for the administrator password for system services. Outside it, Zelo is signed and notarized by Apple.

    Which languages?

English, Portuguese, German, French, Japanese and Spanish.
